FEATURED
On April 10-11, hemispheric leaders convened in Panama City, Panama,
for the seventh summit of the Americas to address the central theme,
"Prosperity with Equity: The Challenge of Cooperation in the Americas."
Dialogue President Michael Shifter was in Panama on the days leading
up to the Summit to participate in the Hemispheric Forum of Civil Society and Social Actors and in the II CEO Summit of the Americas.
The Dialogue has been active in engaging civil society, private sector,
and media leaders to discuss the prospects of the Summit and its
implications for hemispheric affairs. |
ABOUT
The Inter-American Institutions program aims to monitor and analyze the developments of the Organization of American States, the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations, and other multilateral institutions operating in the Western Hemisphere.
The Dialogue offers a forum for leaders to identify collective policy priorities and has frequently been invited to assist in framing the agenda for hemispheric gatherings. The Dialogue hopes to encourage strategic, region-wide thinking and more productive integration among the hemisphere's key leaders.
