A Break in the Clouds: Latin America and the Caribbean in 2005

This year’s report—A Break in the Clouds—conveys our hope that the impressive growth of Latin America’s economies in 2004 and 2005 will be sustained and will help ease the region’s damaging political and social strains. But it also expresses concern that, without substantial policy and institutional reform, the current economic expansion may be short lived.
